Sometimes, things get worse before they get better. Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) is the cost-effective recycling method and alternative to complete reconstruction when pavements reach the end of their life cycle.
During this process, your existing pavement is pulverized at depths of 6 - 12 inches, mixed with base materials, asphalt binder and other additives as necessary, and then graded and compacted. This technique addresses all major distresses throughout the pavement structure and into the base.
The FDR method provides a road that is as good as new, extending its service life up to 25 years. Like other recycling processes, FDR has a small carbon footprint and reduced binder consumption, which leads to reduced emissions.
In addition to conventional FDR emulsions, Ergon Asphalt & Emulsions offered an engineered emulsion that allows for same-day paving.
