Cold In-Place Recycling (CIR) is an environmentally friendly, cost-effective method for restoring worn asphalt pavements that exhibit severe cracking and rutting, among other distresses, without the use of heat.
During the CIR process, 3-5 inches of existing pavement are pulverized and mixed with an emulsion binder uniquely designed to meet specific roadway needs. This treatment is considered one of the most cost-effective resurfacing methods and, because there is no heat involved, is also one of the most environmentally friendly of recycled asphalt treatments.
Like all recycled asphalt treatments, CIR has a small carbon footprint and reduced binder consumption, which leads to reduced emissions. Contact your local salesperson for more information on Ergon’s CIR emulsion.
