Conventional Prime Coat

A conventional prime coat emulsion is used as a binder for base materials and provides a secure bond between base aggregate and the subsequent asphalt layer.

In addition to helping strengthen a road at the base level, a conventional prime coat can serve as a dust palliative. It also helps to prevent water/moisture from penetrating the base soil during construction.

This emulsion is typically applied before a chip seal or hot mix asphalt application.
